🍎 Apple Pies Recipe 🥧
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup unsalted butter (cold, cut into cubes)
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
4–5 tbsp cold water
A pinch of salt
For the filling:
3 medium apples (peeled, cored, diced)
2 tbsp butter
⅓ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
For coating:
½ cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon powder
Instructions:
- Prepare the dough:
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
Add butter cubes and rub with your fingers until crumbly.
Add egg and cold water gradually, mix until dough comes together.
Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Make the filling:
In a pan, melt butter and add diced apples.
Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Cook until apples soften (about 7–10 minutes). Let cool.
- Shape the pies:
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut circles.
Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each circle.
Fold into a half-moon shape and seal edges with a fork.
- Cooking options:
Fried: Heat oil and fry pies until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.
Baked: Place on a baking tray, brush with egg wash, and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes.
- Coat:
Mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll the warm pies in the mixture.
